Default Master clutch cylinder

my friend recently had his master clutch cylinder changed on his type ra, it now grinds in 2nd and 3rd gear. the clutch system has been bled and is coming through clear.

does anybody know why it may be grinding ??

Damage inside the gearbox. The cylinder change is a red herring, it can't/won't cause "grinding", the worst it can do is prevent the clutch disengaging properly.

check gear box oil level first, surely if it grinds in 2nd and 3rd only its a gear box problem.
