Cheapest new radiator?
#1
Where is likely to be the best value but quality job for a new radiator? At last service the dealer advised that the condition of my radiator (MY 95) is very poor, alot of the fins have fallen out so that there are large finless areas on the left and right hand sides (found a dead bird in the bottom of the engine once so that may explain some of the problem!).
The car never overheats, the temp guage sits at below middle even after serious hard driving, but I am concerned that it may be detremental.
I would imagine that a main dealer would be dearer, but who else could I consider to make it cheaper. Always been to Tyres northampton for other work, is it something they would do???
Anyone know how much it might be (~£300 ??)
Thanks
Paul

Try one of the Subaru breakers, I've got the same problem with mine at the moment (rotten fins etc.), Grade A Subaru had 1 in at £150 + vat, quite a bit cheaper than main dealer (around £280 + vat)

Try a rad specialist (found in Yellow Pages) they will cut the ends off and replace with new middle section for about £80...
They could probably suggest a local garage to remove and refit it afterward if you didn't fancy the job yourself too.
All in about £100 and as good as new.
