If this is the unit that sits behind the drivers side headlight with the pipes coming out I have two.

One is a refurb by Subaru and is still boxed and one is suspect.

Drop me a PM.

I am afraid, as my user name suggests, the one I need is for a 3.3l SVX. Completely different system to the Impreza's. Hence the need to refurb as the are like rocking horse sh*t in scapyards!!.
Thanx

Please anyone. I know I don't have an imprezza, but I do have a much rarer scoob that I want to keep going. The question asked is not a SVX question, it is a general question. I know that imprezza's must have the same problem, as this, because when my mates broke a new one was £1600 for a classic, he got a second hand one easily.

So please does anyone know of a company in the uk that refurbish the pumps, or am I going to have to send it to the USA.

you could try contacting gibbons drive systems, one of there sections is motor/pump rewind/repair. maybe worth a try we use them at work regularly, if they can't they will know someone who can. 01621 868138.
