Default DCCD / Anti-Rollbar Query

Not sure if this should be in 'Drivetrain' or 'Supsension' so it's ended up in here.

Currently have a MY96 Ver 2 RA which has DCCD and plated rear diff (open front diff), also running R888's and the handling is great, almost no understeer, power oversteer in the wet if you want it etc etc.
However, the gearbox ahs gone due to too much torque.
There is no point putting another 5 speed in as that will not last long either, so I need a 6 speed box, but ones with DCCD don't come up to often and when they do they are v.expensive.

If I put a non-dccd box in the car will I see a increase in understeer (will be keeping the plated rear diff, but new box will probably have a Suretrac front diff)?

Also if understeer did increase, would putting a thicker rear antiroll bar but retaining the standard front antiroll bar redress the balance??

Has anyone any experience of going from DCCD to Viscous centre diff without any other modifications and how did it affect the handling?
