Default Smoke from TURBO?

Hi,

I have smoke coming from what looks like my turbo in the engine bay.

Im going to take it apart tomorrow, any ideas what it is? Mainly happens when turbo gets hot..

No smoke out zaust, however if i do a few blasts and perhaps a launch ill get smoke on startup.

Also it looks like my lower intercool pipe is very oily. Could it be a seal in the turbo leaking the turbo oil feed somehow?

Thoughts appreciated/tips of what to look for and check.

Cheers
Chris

p.s. car is running unmapped 3" decat.

I have changed brakes a month ago so spillage should be finished. Ive also put on a turbo wrap for about a month including one track day, so that shouldnt still be burning off?

Ive also change front crank oil seal.

Its not pouring out smoke but it is visible. Gonna take down pipe off tomorrow see if i can see into the turbo for any signs.

Surley if turbo seals were leaking it would be out the zaust not the induction, externally...

Could it possibly be the rocker cover gasket leaking and dripping on the exhaust manifold below the turbo? common problem due to the proximity of the gasket to the uppipe.

Does the smoke go away after a long drive? grab a torch an have a look down by the uppipe for signs of oil on the heatsheild before starting it up.

Mine is a 98 and has a tiny drip an smokes in the morning for about 5mins after getting hot, and longer if the car has been standing for a few days.

Just a thought
