Cool new up pipe

Hi all . i am going to remap my car with an Ecutek remap but i have read that i need to change the up pipe . Does this need to be done or it will be ok without an aftermarket Up pipe . I have changed the rest of the exhaust , from the downpipe right to the back box is strait thru .

ps sorry for the spelling mistakes as i am not from uk .

Regards ollie

Assuming it's a newage WRX there is a cat in the up-pipe, you can remap a standard WRX without any mods and will see an improvement so yes you can remap however removing the up-pipe cat would get you more from the re-map. And if you replace the up-pipe at a later date you will need to remap again.

Hello Ollie,
As far as I'm aware you do not have to use an aftermarket up pipe when you have an Ecutek remap at all. The thing is though your standard one is more restrictive than an aftermarket one so the car would benefit a lot more after the re-map if you did decide on an aftermarket up pipe. IMO it's worth getting the aftermarket up pipe and even the manifolds before doing the re-map so that you can get the full benefit from the re-map and the rest of your exhaust system that you have already modified.
Hope that helps and don't worry about the spelling as I'm sure it's much better than my grasp would be on spelling in your first language Gareth
