Default Missing speed sensor!!??

Having just replaced my gearbox and broke my speed sensor will I have any issues apart from the obvious lack of speedo Reading if I run for a few days until I get one sorted? Car is a my99 uk 2000 it has a 3pin connector. I will temporary fit the broken one to block the hole in the box I'm not too fussed about the cel light if it's not gonna hurt for a day or two. Does any one know ? Thanks in advance

thats really helpful, because i changed my engine over and my speedo doesnt work and my car will cut out at 4500rpm asif its a fuel cut, do you thinks its to do with the speedo then? Come to think about it, it will let me rev the car over 4500rpm at stand still in neutral, its a 94 wrx
where could i get one from?

Thanks
