Default anybody clever on boost

hi i bought a version 3 wrx sti ,i installed a boost gauge and was only runing 0.6 bar then realised there was samco hoses on with no pill in so i put a bleed valve on and that took it up to 0.8 bar so i called the chap who last owned the car and he still had the old hoses and one with the pill in so i fitted it but now its running at 1.3 to 1.4 bar wow its fast but im worried about engine and some times the clutch slips on that boost but i can change clutch so do i leave it as it is or do i have a problem else where not sure what boost is ok and why boost is hi with standard pill thanks for your help.

Thats not the standard boost pressure! 1.4bar, will end your engine in no time (thats about 20+PSI) Standard is around 1bar, 1.1 is ok but you need to make sure everything else is running spot on before lifting it too much. You need to drop it back down to 1Bar Asap!

if u take your ecu out, remove the outter casing you can see if it has a chip or not. in the top left (yellow connectors facing you) of the ecu board there will be a chip if it has 1. ill try n find some pics

thanks that would be great sorted out boost someone had put a different size pill i borrowed my mates pill and its running at 0.9 bar which is ok yeah

if it has been chiped i guess thats why the pill was changed but it still has a cat so i think the best bet would be to get it maped again or not.
