Default steering rack ajusment

will a steering rack ajust on a 1993 classac ,,,just asked befor i buy a new one ,,,thanks for any help

There is no "adjustment" on the racks, but you can buy certain replacement parts for them.

What's wrong with it ??

The chances are that the ball joints on the inner part of the drum sticks are worn, these are available seperately and just screw into the main body of the rack, they are also a damn site cheaper than a replacement rack.

I will post the part numbers for you when I get to work tomorrow

The part number for the tie rod and inner ball joint is 34140AA030 £79.67

If the play is in the outer track rod end then you would need 34141AA042 £76.35

Yeah, before getting into the realms of a new rack, worth replacing the track rod ends/balljoints first, and maybe the droplinks for the front ARB too?! (more likely to be these two items than the rack that's worn). If either of these items are worn, then you'll notice a marked improvement in much sharper/positive steering response, etc. when you fit new replacements.

If it's still 'woolly'-feeling after replacing these items, then you prob do have a worn rack...
