Shocks query

Hi All,

Quick question.. I'm looking at a Subaru Impreza STi with the intention of buying. Is it a bad sign if the car has had it's shocks replaced in the 36000 miles that it's done??

What model year is it and was the replacement all four or just the rears? There's a known issue with the rears on newages knocking so that may well explain it.
