I know that the VI monitor will not work on 3 JDM Imprezas that I have tried mine on (my own S202, an NB-R and a V5 STi) , I assume that the scanguage works on the same principle of connecting via the OBD II port under the steering wheel cowling?

I would try before you buy as in my case the VI monitor does not work so I will have to try and sell it.

yeah the scangauge plugs into the OBDII port below the steering wheel - problem seems to be that the JDM vehicles ecu wont "share" their info the way UK spec models will
