Default Parallel Fuel setup or Factory Setup?

I`ve had to replace the factory fuel lines in order to fit a new intake pipe . I've bought braided hose and all the -6an fittings to do the parallel fuel setup but the garage are fitting the braided hoses as per the original factory setup. They're saying that at my level of tuning the car doesn't need a parallel fuel setup (287bhp).

Is this correct or is it worth doing the parallel setup on my car ? Again, I have already bought and supplied them with all the fittings, so that's not an issue.

its worth it simply for a safety mod and there no excuse if its all off for replacement you might aswell?

gives you piece of mind, and less chance of 3 leaning out at all

It doesn't matter what level of tune your car is, the parallel fuel mod is a known cure for the shortfall of the original system. No. 3 runs lean on even a standard car when pushed, so it's a good idea to do it regardless.

It's your car and you've bought all the stuff, so tell the garage to do it how you want!

Also worth replumbing the FPR vacuum source from the No. 3 inlet runner to the centre plenum, as this helps the FPR work more effeceintly when under load/off throttle changes are occuring.

I was just thinking...

Could you not simply fit a fuel T-piece directly after the OEM FPR, and have 2 parallel feeds to both fuel rails?

Surely this is the cheapest possible way to obtain a parallel set-up, so as to factor in a bit of safety for no.3 (and no.1)?!!

Not needed at your power level.... but since you have them, then you might as well fit it.

Jonny 693,
No.... but it depends on the rails used.

T-ing in after the FPR would only give you two returns to the tank to deal with.

The main thing is keeping an even fuel flow so number three cylinder does not run lean. I did mine for that reason running 360 bhp.

Shaun,

They must have aftermarket ECU's running that power, that can alter individual IDC's for each injector, getting around the problem somewhat surely...?

For ECUTEK or other non adjustable ECU's the parallel fuel rail setup can only be a good thing, it's certainly not detrimental in any way.

Top feed is also less prone to these problems over the old side feed injectors.
