Default driving me crazy

good mornin

ive been having this problem with 1997 type r sti, missfire at about 2500 - 3500rpms read a lot about it on here and other sites and came to the conclusion it could be the plugs, coil pack, maf, lambda sensor etc quite a big list lol. when i bought her it was overfilled with oil so could that have contaminated anything like a sensor? I have reset the ecu and still there. when i pulled the maf plug out wile running cuts out everytime. if i keep it at a steady 3 and accelarate slowly it misfires quite bad. once on full boost runs perfect.
any advice to narrow down my search would be greatly apricated

cheers guys
mike
