Default Whell bearings

the rear wheel bearings on my 2001 bugeye wagon are now whining more than the wife i was wondering how hard they are to replace and what tools would be required to carry out said job, and would any experts out there know if the bearings are the same in my wagon as they are in a salon car of the same age

ive done mine this year and they arnt too bad.you do need specialists tools tho although i made my own as im a fabricator by trade.maybe you could hire some?i would say that great care is to be taken when re-fitting the new ones as they can be easily damaged.however, mine still whines and i posted a thread 2 days ago and dunx told me that the hub is probably knackered too.he said the hub would be scrap by the time you hear the whine.if i took the plunge and bought a new one id hope it would cure it!!

Yes, if the hub is damaged the costs can double.

I gave it to my specialist to do; £70 for part and 2hrs labour (£100) if everything is OK.
