110 import?

Default 110 import?

i`ve got an import `94 wrx its got 110mph on the clock but when it reached that that was it, does anyone now if thats because theres a restrictor on it or what? coz this is my first subaru im not sure where to start.

all the imports are restricted to 112. needs derestricting and speedo converting to mph

they are limited,max speed will be 112 mph.
subaru's are not built for top speed,i would leave the limiter on

if you do fit a derestricter make sure you buy a decent one i fitted a cheap ebay one and had nothing but problems with the cel all the time problem was solved when i had it remaped but it is dam anoying

It doesn't actually remove the limiter as such, just changes the ratio's of the speedo cable, so the car displays mph instead of kph. As the limiter is set to 180kph (112mph) it is now set to 180 mph, this also saves you the need to change the dials. Your car has a mechanical speedo not the electrical type that comes on later classics, so make sure you get the right one. You can get them for either the speedo or gearbox end of the cable.

wrx db, I have 2 convertors for sale:-

- An old-style speedo cable all-metal in-line one (with both sections of the speedo cable attached to either end, too). So you just simply replace your existing speedo cable with it.

- Or a little black module one, which I think attaches to the back of the speedo head on the binnacle, and the cable reattaches to its other free end.

sorry to hijack but wouldt getting the 112mph limit taken off mess with the ecu?
