Exhausts Blow(I THINK)
Got a 2002 Bugeye impreza on 43,500 miles. Completly standard!! Turbo is spooling up really late around 4,000rpm, and the usuall burble from the exhaust sounds like it is coming from under the turbo??? i have jacked the car up and the exhaust looks ok but im not sure weather its because the car has been sitting for a while? has any1 come across this?? could the turbo b on the way out or is there a common part of the exhaust that rusts? any info would be re-assuring.

So you're the one who's got the completely standard car.
From what you've described, it sounds a lot like the flexi-joint in the up-pipe has gone - not uncommon - or else something in the same neck of the woods has rusted through.

Quick update, i have had the car in bits today! 1st i took the under tray off and started the car cold, obviously as the noise was quieter it made me think more towards it being an exhust problem! Stuck my hand in and around the manifold which connets to the up pipe (Drivers side), and could feel the blow, however couldn't pin point exactly where from (up pipe to manifold or manifold to engine). So i then continued by taking the manifold off! have checked it over from top to bottom can't find any cracks or holes and i have now buffed up the connecting ends. The gaskets are really rusty, could it just be those?? Is it common for a manifold to crack? Any advice would be good...
