Default engine info questions scooby turbo

hi all new to this site and enjoying all the help ive had so far anyway need some help on this,ive just bought an early subaru wrx engine to go in my 97 year impreza as i bought it with no engine trouble is 97 model is the type that has the coil pack in the middle this wrx has seperate coils can i put later version 3/4 heads to go on this early engine and then have the version 4 inlet manifold coilpack in the middle would this work and what ecu would i need as this is missing and i checked how many plugs and has 4 yellow ones thanks

If you have a 97 car and want a say 94 engine in ur 97 scooby then take your heads and inlet mani off your 97 engine and put them on your 93 engine. You'll have to maybe swap a few sensor over like your knock sensor but other than that the engine will then fit in with your 97 ecu and engine loom

hi the engine is missing in the 97 scoob thats why bought a engine to find its a early type cant swap bits over as have not got the orig engine but dont mind sourcing parts to fit again no ecu to go buy but its a 4 plug if that helps

you dont need to change the heads
you WILL need to get a 97 MY inlet manifold tho complete

ok cheers so its not to hard then im goner look for some sti heads version 3/4 that be stright swap right heard the cams are more wilder?is there anythink else might need to do if i stripped it that far?

MMMM ... im not sure about STI heads the different versions always confuse me
I do have a STI engine complete out of a 97 MY STI RA with good heads on tho

ok thanks but if not normal version 3/4 heads will fit yes
