Hi there,

I have just come back from giving my car grim death at the ring when i started up on the ferry to come home i could hear it whilstling.

I limped it home, but you can still boost fine but you can still hear it whilstling at idle through the air intake.

Its a VF24 me thinks, and my car is a 1998 version 4 STI Type R, is it replacement time? As you cant refurb these?

Anyone ideas how these turbos sound when the bearings start to go?
And am i worth getting a second hand one or an upgrade?
