Default boost controller question

if i buy a manual boost controller, can the car be driven with the boost off or set to low for long journeys?

nothing will be damaged, will it?

All a manual boost controller does is restrict the boost going to the actuator from unlimited atmospheric (maximum) to standard (minimum)...

...so basically, if you turn it down to zero it will just run whatever it would normally run without it, ie standard. I do this for normal day to day running about etc. and turn it up for playtime

Nothing will be damaged as long as you dont set it above 1.2 Bar... although tbh 1 Bar is quite enough If you can get hold of a Boost gauge to make sure its set up right, all the better, otherwise you risk hitting fuel cut, and thats not good, lol... (and it hurts too)

if you had a boost controller and set it to zero it would still run at the same as it is now, so doesnt help you at all. Sounds like you need a switchable map...

Running lower boost won't help your fuel economy anyway, assuming thats what your trying to acheive.

Its mapped for 1.2 bar of boost, therefore its fuelled for 1.2 bar of boost. The car will just run rich if you had less boost, and probably ****.

You can't turn it down to zero boost. Minimum you'll get is actuator pressure - so half a bar or so on a standard-ish turbo.
