I wonder what the trap speed of that prodrive run was as well.
A good time is mainly down to a good start, but the trap speed would give a good indication of what power it's _actually_ running

Well, I ran a 13.5 / 103 at Santa Pod with a full weight new age (including stereo bits), and was told my speed was way too slow for my power, and the car is running 390 odd bhp.
I think that either:
1. Times get understated and speeds get overstated on forums
2. My car isn't running right - but then again it's never been beaten up the motorway slip road except by a Ferrari 430 last year, and that wasn't hugely faster either.
The new age is super heavy, though, and that will really hurt the quarter mile times / speeds.

Weight is a big factor, some classics are running as much as 200kg less than a newage.
Torque is important, especially in the first part, I'm running 376lbs/336bhp and kept the revs between 4-6000 through the gear changes.
Also to draw comparisons with other cars running on the same day, things like air/track temp have a big effect on turbo'd cars. I'd expect an improved time on a cold day when the place wasn't packed.
Agree, times/ speeds, bhp figures all very misleading if not backed up and yes the start can be messed up but if the cars got the power it'll recover the trap speed.
