Default over revving problem on sti v5. help please!

Hi all

Just encountering a problem on my version 5. Whenever I'm in 3rd, 4th or 5th and accelerate, the revs go higher than a kite, whilst there's no immediate power. After a second, the revs drop back down and then the power kicks in.

It's been a very reliable car over the past 2 and half years of ownership and this problem has only been occurring for the past few weeks. The 'check engine' light has appeared on a number of occasions, then disappeared.

Any idea's guys? I've had the cambelt and service done last week and it's currently at 65k. Was thinking of taking it to Torque of the Devil in Uxbridge, as they are only around the corner to me.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
