The vent feeds the air ducts to the brakes.
Take care that the car does not injest water from having the air intake that low.

Use some of that flexi hose to direct air to the filter by placing it to the driver side end of the grille, or the maw in the bumper.... If there's room to do it of course.

In that case it's gotta be the driver side front foglight removed and a STi replica cover put on with hole in, etc. You can buy these covers pre-moulded with the hole in, on eBay...

Oh and put a cover on the passenger side too, so it don't look pony

mat, here is that cold air feed foglight cover set:-

Subaru STI Fog light Air Intake Duct & Cover 92/01 WRX on eBay (end time 19-Sep-09 22:17:33 BST)

...Ported 'ram' air intake to fix to the end of flexi pipe too:-

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Ram-Air-Intake...d=p4634.c0.m14

You could also fit another of these to the air filter end of the pipe, so the air gets directed over more of the filter's surface area, etc. (plus it'll look good and finished off).
