IS IT A DCCD GEARBOX???
how can you tell a dccd box from a non dccd box?
i know the gearbox code will tell me but i'm not sure the code on the box is correct. its a 6 speed removed from a 2005 sti.
all the box's i've worked on only have one wiring connector at the clutch cylinder which leads back to 2 sensors on the box. this 6 speed has that two sensors and another block with maybe 10 other wires??
sound like a dccd????
reason i ask is i'm selling it and dont want to sell something that it aint. i got the whole setup when i bought it, inc the dccd switches.
quick reply needed as it6s possibly sold.
cheers guys

i do have the code but on the transmition chart it says its non dccd, but i've read on usa websites ppl with the same code saying it is a dccd box......i got the thumb wheel switches with my box etc and has alot of wiring on the box i've never seen before.
gearbox code is TY856WN6KA would like to find out my self too as this is same box as mine hence the pic
link to chart
The SPDA - Transmission Chart
gear chart has UK/Europe/NZ Impreza WRX STi MY02-04 TY856WN*** 3.636 2.375 1.761 1.346 0.971 0.756 3.545 1.100 3.900 Viscous (4kgf) A.P. Suretrac
so could the spare plug be for a sensor ?? as the rear diff that came with the box had a sensor plug in it and belive it was for temp ??
anyone shed some light on this ??
plug i had left over was the black lead with grey plug end

finally dug my box out my shed and got pics, been looking at all the 6 speed pics i can find on the net and my box seems to have an extra 2 wires/sensor that some dont have and its built into the box its not a sensor that can be removed (first pic).

same as mine fella as i have this
but i have not got the yellow bit that plugs into the grey clip
so need to find out what this is now and if it is dccd will need to get the parts to get it to work

its that black wire that goes across the spine of the box that only some 6 speeds have. i'm led to believe thats possibly the dccd??? search ebay and look at the ones listed on there, non are dccd and non have that black cable.........
ok i'm now led to believe that a non dccd box has a 4 wire plug and a dccd box has a 6 wire plug (2 wires for dccd)
so going by that i'd say we have dccd box's as when you search the net for 6 speed pics most dont have that black cable across the back with the extra 2 wires

in that case im going to have to get a controler ect.. but would like to have a second opinion before i spend out money, any pics of your controler for dccd ??and shouldnt this just plug into the plug on the side of box ??
