Default ECU mapping help

Hi All,

I am based in Kenya where we do not have mapping facilities (or anyone with the necessary knowledge) and i was wondering if it is plausible for me to buy an Apexi PFC in the UK and get it mapped according to the mods on my version 3 STI type R and have it sent to me in Kenya - will it work??
Or even if i get an Apexi PFC with a conservative base map with slightly increased ignition, boost, fuelling etc etc.... would it be better than running on just the stock ECU?

Any advise & help much appreciated.

Imran

With the different climate and fuel quality I doubt that it would be a good idea !

Sorry !
