Default Bonnet bouncing / forcing itself open

Hi every body, I have a 95 classic WRX with a pre face lift bonnet (I thing light weight alloy bonnet). My passenger noticed that when I was driving down the road the bonnet would bounce up and down. Even worse was when the car went around 100mph (not on a public road mister police officer) the bonnet bowed so much it looks like it had been left open (but It was closed) the gap between the wing and bonnet looks around about 1cm at this point and it was still bouncing violently I slowed down in fear of the bonnet braking open and smashing my windscreen. The bonnet sits flush when stopped with the standard centre catch witch is tight.

has any one else had this problem?

Obviously air flow is forcing the bonnet to want to burst open. The bonnet still has the standard blanking plates on the front vents. Will removing these plates allow air to escape form under the bonnet and solve the problem?

ok thanks. i still dont like it though, as iv seen the damage a bonnet can do if it brakes open. It happened to my friend’s golf. Pretty scary doing 60 with a bonnet where your windscreen should be and no idea where you are going lol

You could always fit bonnet pins if your really worried about it.
