Default Head gasket or heater blockage?

I have an MY00 UK Turbo, a couple of days ago i went to turn the heating on whilst driving at night and it only blew out cold air even though the engine was at mid temp, a few minutes later the hot air came out as normal.

Now last night and this morning there is only cold air blowing out of the vents when the engine is constantly at mid temp!

Is this likely to be a heater blockage or could it be something alot worse?

Any help would be appreciated!

Cheers

Take the lid off the engine coolant filler and look inside. Any waxy deposit means the headgaskets are shot. A garage will also do a "sniff test" to check for you.

Check your coolant level first mate. If empty or low top up try again and search for a leak maybe. Gotta be better than jumping into headgasket territory.

checked it over on wed night and let i warm up from cool and watched the engine bay, turned out there was a hole in the radiator and it had been letting the coolant out! Topped up coolant and put new radiator in and problem solved!

Thanks for the help

Glad it's sorted.
When mine went, it WAS headgaskets. Heads needed skimming, it was done locally and the guy that did it either didn't know, or didn't tell me that I ought to have had the map checked. It's now killed my engine
