Front: T1R. Rear: POTENZA-070. STi. possible?
Hi.
I want to know what is the reason for the Subaru compay to announce that all the 4 wheels MUST be replaced to a same model of the tyre.
I'm planning to install two semi-slicks tyres (TOYO T1R) on the front axle and two Bridgstone RE070 tyres on the rear, in order to make the car less understeer and more over-steer tuning. The gear/Drivetrain is NOT DCCD.
The problem is that this is different model of tyres. the size of them is same. the grip isn't. Is that a problem to the drivetrain, gear or differencials of the car?
TY.

I doubt it is a problem to the drivetrain.... just a problem to the handling!
Not sure what you are referring to as semi-slick.... none of the types you mention are!

RE-070 is more of a "slick" than a T1-R, so would be better on the front. I found the Toyo road tyres T1-R & S wore heavily on my Scoob.

dunx,
What do you constitute as wearing heavily?
One good thing I would always say about T1-R's is that they wear well imo.... well, they always have on cars that I have run on them.

I'm hard on tyres.... T1-s shredded the shoulders off in no time, RE-070's are lasting very well, T1-R came off pretty quick to help a mate out, but wear was noticeable after just a few weeks.
