Default Moar power!!!

Me car is currently umm 307.7hp and has a simtek with 3 bar map sensor plus i have the usual goodies to get it there like fmic etc, only thing i don't have is headers.

Would this gain me much at all, everyone recommends harvey headers but id prefer rcms as i've heard these are the only ones that tend to last.

Oh it has 550's fitted, pump etc.

Any suggestions?

At your current power level most would suggest ported for a road car, closer to 360+ then tubular manifolds may make a bigger difference.

IMHO

What Turbo ?

As I understand it headers are usually fitted ported for spool rather than power at your level and running FMIC.

What turbo do you have and how far do you want to go?
What model and year ?
Let me have your e-mail address and I will send you a standard letter that may prove informative.

It's a 94 wrx td0516g turbo.

Email sent bud.

Power wise i just want something closer to 330/340 i'll be happy with that, better spool would be a good bonus as it's currently around 2600 onwards.

The turbo on your car probably has a ceiling of 340 - 350 bhp but that would be on an STi with everything done.
With a proper exhaust system, no cats, 3" open neck downpipe, ported headers, matched uppipe, and remap to around 1.3 bar you can probably get it to 320-330 bhp
Ported headers and matched uppipe you have the information on. £369 exchange, wrapped. We fit for £75 or deliver £12.50. You can also have RCM headers per my letter but for what you are trying to do that would be a step backwards.
I ran my STi 3 Wagon at 335 bhp on the standard VF23 turbo which is not dissimilar in power potential to your own. It was also on standard injectors, top mount and ECU.
So basically ported headers and a good remap and I would be disappointed if you did not have 320-330 bhp.

Well on my gauge she's about 1.4/1.5 bar though it's a blitz it came with the car so id like to think it's over reading a bit, i'll have to ask martyn what she was running, he did say i was close to the limits of the turbo so maybe it's just the headers holding her back.

The exhaust is a full decatted tsl group n system this included the bell mouth group a decat, not sure if it's a 2.5 or 3" system though it is all tsl perhaps you know?

Better spool would be great that's the one thing bugging me about this car as i know it's not all about peak power, it'll make her a far better day to day car.

Im assuming a tweak of the map would be in order if i fitted the headers.

How much for a nice ported and wrapped headers and up pipe full price then what do i get back once i send you my manifold, id rather do it that way tbh.

Cheers for the advice btw.

For what you are doing it won't matter if you have a 2.5 or 3" exhaust as long as it is free flowing and no sharp kinks. Just from fitting ported headers you will feel a gain but obviously mapping the car you will get best benefits and there must be more to come if the turbo is in good order because these do have potential for around 340 bhp plus.
The exchange price for ported headers and matched uppipe all DEI wrapped is £369 plus overnight delivery £12.50 and you have 3 weeks to send me back your old headers against which I normally take a deposit.
If you drop me an email I can send a standard letter with all the information you need and also information on tubular headers which are £375. harveysmith1@btopenworld.com
