In all honesty ther wont be much of a difference in the two quality of fuels as they are both 99 ron . Price will be different lol .

There wont be any point remapping your car if its already mapped to v power !

Mines mapped on Tesco 99. When they run out (which is quite often) I use V-power. Can't say I've noticed any difference, other than a lighter wallet.

used to be 98 optimax now 99.

i was having a debate with two of my mates yesterday one has mildly tuned evo 6 and the other has a very heavily tuned r34 gtr. they both had there cars mapped on V power but both have been using tesco 99 for the past few weeks both using pfc and they recon the knock hasnt changed at all.

i use tesco 99 on my other car and it doesnt seem to last as long as Vpower.

can some one settle this once and for all on which is the better fuel i know v power is more widley used because its everywhere but which one is better?

and which one of the two contains some type of octane booster?or is that just a myth?

i use either v power or tesco 99 depends on where i am ,i prefer to use v power but it is about a 10 mile drive so i just put tesco 99 in it most of the time.

although i did put in bp ultimate the other week and was suprised when i got more miles as i normally stay away from bp as i didnt used to rate it and the cans of coke are bloody 75p

Mapped on Tesco 99 but I use both (which ever closest) and have no problems. I used to notice a massive difference (knock) between BP ultimate (97) and optimax (98) on my 03 sti (it was difficult to get 98 all the time back then where I live).

Brand not as important as ron rating from experience

Some cars seem to prefer one while other cars may prefer another. Personally I've always used V-Power (or previously optimax) where available and the few times I've used BP-Utlimate - well ultimate rip-off comes to mind!

I don't think I've ever had the chance to use tesco 99 (they only have 97 near me) but I run on LPG now anyway :P

From using in my own cars and mapping with different fuels I tend to find
vpower normally allows a tiny bit extra power and usually slightly better mpg
tesco 99 is usually safe to use when car mapped for vpower and visa versa
esso is 97 but tend to rate it 3rd best
bp 97 is not particularly great..
the sainsbury's 97 is very similar to bp but it seems more consistent.. the bp I find it tends to randomly det when using it.
I have also played with varying 95ronsalso but tend to find the reduction in power when using it means you put your foot down more and therefore get less mpg and therefore may as well just use vpower

Sounds more or less what I've found with various cars I've had in the past (all turbocharged). I've not done any mapping mind, so it's nice to hear someone in the field more or less agreeing with what I figured.
