Default washing the bores

hi,
what is the long term damage of washing the bores and what does it look like? is it the cylinder wall wearing out and it leaves a patch due to the oil beaing washed out?
thanks phil.

I think when the bores are washed, the oil obviously washes out and the piston rings score the bores. i havent seen any pictures though. I'm not sure what causes it, overfuelling perhaps?

yes, mine had the problem of over fueling (pre mapping) and from what ive seen on my cylinders, it has a big patch at the bottom of each cylinder.
my guess is that, as the cylinders were cleaned of oil due to too much fuel pumping in, the piston was dragging on the bottom of the cylinder, and over a short space of time it wore a patch away, about the size of a 10p and a quater mm deep, to each cyliner.
so anyone that thinks they maybe running rich, BE WARNED...
i need a rebuild again now as there was little bits of metal in the oil,
new crank and shells for crank and rods, new block maybe if it cant be bored anymore as its already .5 over and new rings, all needs the teedius task of running in.

yeh, over fueling, washes oil, ruins bore, if gets to hot, rings seize, u can blow spark plugs as fuel not getting burnt. ruins pistons
