Default 7k ecu into 1993 wrx

I have manged to get hold of a 7k ecu off a 95 sti v2. Can i put this safely into my 93 wrx which has a decat and panel filter and cooler plugs.? I alwats run the car on vpower . At the moment it has a Z4 ecu in it which was a vast improvement on my u8 ecu.

My blocks closed deck and running the 3 port boost solenoid.

I know the 7k is mapped for the grey injectors. But the rev limit has been raised to 7000 rpm ish.

The 7k also has a chip socket in it so would any benefits of putting a polar chip or likewise ?

Id love any feedback please.

Cheers all

7k is from a STI RA STi RA (1996) ECU 7K - 13.17psi (peaks to 13.64psi @ 5800rpm). Fuel-Cut 15.96psi.
Think the rev limit is 7500rpm so would be higher than your 93wrx

6K is from a V2 STI

If you are fitting a PPchip then the spec of the original ecu is irrelivent, as soon as you cut the J1 resistor the ecu runs the map on the PPchip which obviously covers the rev limit, fueling, injector duty ect. The only advantage i can see is that the 7K has the DIL socket already fitted so would save you time/money.

Shouldn't do as the fuelling and boost are similar to the 6K ecu which is similar to the z4 ecu (and both these can be run in early cars although my 93 wrx didn't like the 6K for some reason) BUT it's just the extra 500 rpm which can cause problems if you happen to go into them as your engine wasn't designed for it.

I always thought most ej20gs where more or less the same but ouch I will polar chip it then and be safer as i hit redline quite often lol . I don't know why M3 owners always want to get in front of me :P

The EJ20 comes in many forms (block type and internal specs)
