Default Clutch fork install.

Please guys, new clutch arrived today. Any tips before i instal it. I just replaced my motor and thought i could reuse my clutch and release bearing, thought all was going well until i tried to select a gear. Removing the motor i see the release bearing has split into 3 pieces.

So, do i fit the release bearing to the gearbox with the fork, then fit the motor to the gearbox. how do i get the bearing to connect with the clutch so that i dont break it this time?

This is covered in the FAQ forum somewhere isn't it?

Either way, fit the release bearing, fork, fork pin and cover to the box first. Once it's mated back to the engine, push the nose of the bearing into the clip on the clutch cover by pulling the top of the fork backwards towards the firewall. You should feel the bearing lock into place.

If it helps build some confidence you can always practice fitting and removing the bearing before you fit the box to get the hang of how the clip works.

Never knew we had a FAQ, will look for that. I used your method above but fooked the bearing so was not sure if i had done something wrong. Will try practice first.
