The pump and alternator make a very slight whine as standard. If it is anything more, check for leaks in the power steering pipework. I've just had two pumps die on me because I didn't spot the leak until a couple of days after replacing the first pump.

had this when i changed engine, just wined wen reved and got worse hot..so i filled it a little bit over the max line and steadly took for a spin then it bled properly and i syringed the excess back out of the tank to correct level jobs a good un..at first i could swear it was right level but i think there is not much room for error for right level and under filled

Yeah it was fine the first time I started to fill it up, so I'm thinking a air lock, I'm not sure where the correct fill level is tbh, I might drian it out, and start it up and steer left to right while I'm filling it to bleed it better, as I just topped it up then started it.

The fill level stick is very confusing; it can be reading right at the bottom of the lower level and look like it's only a few millilitres under, when in fact a lot of the fluid has leaked out. A small amount of fluid tends to sit in the bottom of the filter, giving a misleading impression of how much fluid is in the pump.

If so Great i will just top it up.
would it cause it to whine if i had to much oil in there
Not sure it would but hey worth the question
if not would you think draining the tank then leaving a little in the bottom, and, as im steering left to right get someone to top it up slowing so its bleeding while its being poured in?
thanks for all the help so far guys
nearly there
