Default prova ecu or standard?

hi all, does anyone run a prova ecu, if so have you had any bother?, mine was already fitted to the car when i bought it + its my first scooby so i dont know how much different the prova is from the standard ecu, all i know is as previously mentioned im gettin loads of probs since my misses overdosed the petrol with octane booster,i have a 94 wrx import and am starting to wonder if the ecu would be better as standard?cheers-steve

I expect it would be quite different from the original map as the Japs do like making the maps quite aggressive.

I had one of these fitted when I got my car.
Do a search there is quite a bit of info on here about it

If I remember the boost is increased to 16.5psi, 2-5 degrees extra ignition advance and mapped for 98-100ron fuel.

So make sure you use optimax/tesco super at least.

Invest in a phormula ks3, cheaper than an engine look in the group buys for the discount on them
Check out Phormula - Engine Knock, Detonation and Pre-Ignition Detection and Monitoring Systems for the video on how they work

i would not run it. too agressive. i would fit a z4 ecu which you can get for less than £50. This will give 260ps and is very safe on super unleaded.
