opinions on mods on new car
would like opinions plz on mods on a 2000 uk turbo im thinking of buying.
the mods are Front manifold headers + 3" hks decat pipe + full exhaust system , 17" speedline alloy wheels +toyo half worn tyres , Datatek piggyback ecu , Td05 big 16G turbocharger.
Comp fse power boost valve , Uprated fuel pump 255 , front strut brace + H brace , Rear subframe brace , Hks dump valve , STI intercooler , Apexi cone air filter , Uprated organic clutch kit.
basic mods i know about but with this combination is there anything particular i should ask about.

just spoke to the guy about the car and he said the piggyback ECU was on before he got the car and he fitted the headers, exhaust and turbo. i presume the car should be re-mapped with these mods on, if it hasn't been re-mapped is this a problem.

I'm certain it will have been remapped (what with the piggyback ECU being present). You'd need him to produce some evidence e.g. an invoice, for some kind of peace of mind.
If not, then make sure you get it on a rolling road to check out the AFRs over the full rev range/loads...

Incidentally, I've searched the web for the terms "Datatek" and "ECU", and this very thread was the first response - with nothing similar. I'd suspect that the seller is actually referring to a Dastek Unichip, for what it's worth.
Going purely on the basis of what you've said so far, your decision to pass on this car is a realistic one. Even if you had the money to get it properly mapped ASAP, you don't know what sort of state the engine is in having been exposed to the current owner's modification strategy.
