Quick Question re fuel pump seal, hopefully easy answer for someone
I'm pretty sure the above needs replacing on my scoob as I recently changed the fuel pump and I can smell fuel badly around that area. Taken a look and the seal is not in the best of condition.
Anyways, whilst tracking down and fitting another one is the car ok to drive normally?
I have noticed that there is no pwwooosh when you take the petrol cap off.
Don't know if it can cause any damage

I was in the same position kept smelling petrol fumes in the car. Got a new gasket from the dealers (saved time) and plastered it with hermetite red before fitting. You could try putting sealent on the gasket first before buying a new one.

Probably drove mine for a few months until I worked out what was happening. The easiest way to reduce the smell is not to fill the tank over 3/4. That way as you drive the fuel does not seep out. You should not cause any damage driving it around.
