Question GEARBOX STRENGTH

Will my 2003 uk sti gearbox/clutch be able to handle 400bhp .

Forget the H and get a T.

Friend is running a 670bhp P1 with a 6 speed uk Sti box.
Spent last weekend draggin it and alls fine.

Thats impressive, out of interest is the box and clutch as strong on the older scoobs? mine is a 96.

Shouldve said the clutch wont take the same power as the gearbox.
Depending on how you drive then the clutch can handle mid 400's

On the classics the gearbox is said to let go around 350 but quite a few people running more.

96 box as with all classic box's are no where near as strong as a 6sp Newage box. Mid 300's is the best you can hope for from a classic box.... some last at this level (and slightly more), but most don't.

Yes.
You wont be able to run the T @ its full potential but the benefits to that is boost wont tail off. When Andy F mapped my car he said there is little difference spool between the T and H on newage STi's.

They are both the same price also!
