Question Oil modine coolant pipes

I'm fitting an oil cooler with a thermostatic sandwich plate soon, so will be getting rid of the oil modine.......

The question is : what to do with the coolant pipes? (that go from the block, then the modine, then to the waterpump).

Are you guys just plugging both pipes? Or joining the pipes between the block the waterpump?

I suspect either would be fine, but was wondering how everyone else does it.

Cheers.

(car is a MY00 classic BTW)
