When was ODB2 introduced?

Default When was ODB2 introduced?

engine managment light on my 1995 V2 WRX keeps lighting up when cruising around 100mph.

has it got ODB2 or 1? ive got a little ODB2 tool to pull the fault codes out, but cant find the diagnostics connector? where is it??

1999-2000ish i think.

On yours there is a manual way to check Scoobypedia | Trusted knowledge for everything Subaru | Scoobypedia / Scoobypedia under the ecu heading

Neither. It has a Subaru Select Monitor 1 port.

That's going to do you no good at all unfortunately. You can read fault codes straight off the CEL - search for "black plugs".

For what it's worth, UK and jap market Imprezas became OBD2 compliant with the introduction of the bugeye. USA got it with the late GC's
