Is it worth me replacing my exhaust centre section ?
Hi folks,
I have a 2004 WRX and I am slowly modding it. So far it's got:
Racebox backbox.
De-cat front section.
Ninja sports-cat downpipe.
Green panel filter.
Uprated fuel pump.
and I've got a de-cat uppipe which I am waiting to fit. I am planning a remap in the next couple of weeks. Do you think it is worth replacing the standard centre section on the exhaust ? It appears to be, relatively speaking, straight through. Would I gain any torque / power or is it just a waste of £100 ? Any advice or comments really appreciated !!!!!
Cheers,
Wilky.

Not mapped yet. What to try and do as many mods as I can before it is mapped. Unfortunately I can't afford a turbo / injectors. I am hoping for between 270 and 280 bhp. Does this seem reasonable ? Are there other mods I could do to improve these figures ?

You should see 270-280 on a re-map with sports cat and std turbo, though prob need the de-cat centre section (you should still pass MOT with just sportscat d/p). To get above this reliably I think you will need a different turbo and some supporting mods. Good idea to speak to a mapper e.g. jolly green monster and they will tell you exactly what is possible and what is needed.
