Boost Gauge Problem?
#1
What should a boost gauge be reading when the engine is idling? The new one I have is reading 15 into the vacuum zone, kinda thought it would be at zero .
Bit of a boost gauge virgin so apologies if this is a stupid question .
An early reply by someone would be great as we need to know the thing is working right before we put everything back together Sunday morning!!
Cheers

Can not remember all technical stuff but, when engine is ticking over or no throttle is used then gauge will show negative pressure as it is a vacuum. When turbo spins up pressure increases so then gauge increases to a positive reading 1 bar as an example. When engine is turned off then gauge normally sits at 0, as I guess pressure is held in system. (or a least mine does). No matter how fast you go if you release throttle slightly, pressure will drop. This is normal.
