Pls can anyone help. I have just brought a subaru impreza wrx 2002 from a gararge and it has just broken down!

The garage has agreed to put things right but it has put me off the car completly.

Basicly the car will go in to any gear easily but when you release the clutch and apply the power you get no drive at all from any wheel. The speedo however still works and rises accordingly. There is also a slight grinding noise when the cluch is up and in gear but the car goes no where?

Before this happened there was a horrible grating noise from the gear box area and the whols car seemed to vibrate ( as if the wheels were falling off)!

Is it likely to be the grearbox, Clutch , diff or something else? and if so could other things soon be affected?

Any ideas would really help. Thanks.

It sounds like the gearbox to me.
