Engine swapping questions..
Hey there, recently embarked on swapping out my blown 1986 subaru gl-10 ea82 turbo engine with a japanese import, also called an ea82. Upon receiving the engine, I saw that the comonent set up it slightly different. Just found out it's probably from an XT. I also heard that if I am to use the components from the "new" engine I have to get an ECU from XT and swap it out with mine. Do I have to get an ECU from a car with this EXACT engine? Is there any way I can use the components without doing this? And if I do need a specific ECU, does anyone know for sure what kind of engine this is/exactly what kind of subaru it came out of? Or if there is a place where you can look up the engine number. In fact, any useful information about engine swapping would be great.
Thanks
