Default no engine check light.wont start.

hi guys ive just had a recon engine fitted the engine started fist time but now wont start at all.the garage that fitted the engine run it up the road and seemd fine then just like that it wont start.ive had the pump out works fine,ive changed the fuel pump relay still no joy and ive noticed now wen i put ignition on their is no engine check light comming on.should the light come on 4 a few seconds then go off.ime going mad the cars now been off the road nearly 3 months can some 1 help.

what year?

have fuses and relays been checked? sounds like ecu is not getting power..

on 99~00 there is a plug on driverside engien bay that will do this.

I presume garage are out of their depth?

The repair manual has a checklist for just this sort of situation. When it happened to me, I found that the ECU power relay had blown (but this was because the car had got a short circuit earlier). Find one of the online copies of the repair manual for your car, get out the multimeter and begin troubleshooting.

Default ecu power supply relay

thanks 4 your info guys.had another look 2 day still no engine check light.1 of you guys said check ecu power supply relay ware is it located .she is a 95 wrx.ive got diagnostics comming on mon.
