Question

I've got to admit to being a little bit green here but from what I've read on here and around the net I have some questions. I have a five month old WRX ex demo car STANDARD spec - probably run on a mixture of unleaded.

1) It seems the best fuel option for the car is Optimax (and extra cost is not an issue). What performance difference can I expect?
2)If the car has been running on a mixture of 95/97 up to know should I get the ECU reset at the next service. If so why and what is the performance difference?
3) Are octane boosters safe for my car? damage to engine etc ?
4) How do I use an octane booster? Sorry I know I am green !!!!
5) Any particular octane booster recommended ?

Responses would be appreciated. Thanks

Thumbs up

I have tried loads of Octane Boosters and mix's of Fuel.

NF is by far the best one in the UK, pro Boost is OK, but compared to NF its more expensive and less efficient.

£3.00's worth per tank will take Optimax to over 100RON fuel.

The ECU should adjust to the new Fuel thus giving you more fun.

Regards
Nic

Thanx,

The performance is fine on Esso super but I'm gonna try Optimax and Texaco super to see the difference.

I really need to know whether octane boosters damage the car or not. I suppose it's the Cat convertor that gets the most damage. In terms of performance versus potential damage are the risks worth it.

As the car is contract purchase I can't chip it, but could probably get away with a different exhaust. I don't want noise I want performance.
