Hi all, looking for some recommendations when buying an induction kit and the best way of setting up a custom cold air feed for my 1997 WRX... as currently i've got a K&N panel filter in the standard airbox (inwhich has been nicely modded by previous owner, with hundreds of drill holes
... NICE!)
Also going to be looking at the best way of shielding it from heat from the engine.
All ideas, opinions and recommendations welcome... Thanks
Just a note, have just fitted a FMIC so am kind of short of space where stanard airbox was
Ta

you can get cold air kits that place the filter in the wing. this will in turn shield from hot air and allow for cold air into the intake.
im in the process of making mine on the weekend and i have a nice piece of alloy pipe to which i will bend and get to go into the wing with a jetex or jr filter which is rated to 600bhp + and its a dry gauze so it wont ruin the maf

Space in the wing is limited like, due to fact i've just fitted FMIC.
So looks like will have to keep it all under the bonnet, in the gap where the original airbox was.
Cheers
