I have a uk spec 97 ej20 that i think has pistonslap. when cold make noise and goes away when hot. im looking at getting a new block, and i know that jap engine dont get pistonslap, i was wondering if anyone knows if i bought a jap block would all my gearbox, intake manifold exhuast all ancl bits fit straight on??? and what about wiring looms?????

also where is best place to get a engine either recon uk spec or jap???????

Speak to api engines only hear good things of them and the owner is real helpfull too

 

All 97/98 2ltr turbo engines suffered from piston slap.
