Default Oil coolers

Right,
Im taking my V2 Ra to the Ring in August, been out there quite a few times now and oil temp is a concern for me.
I know the Subaru's have a modine/heat exchanger but in my experience this is crap as the lowest oil temp is effectively the coolant temp but they do not have 100% efficiency.
My Corrado Vr6 with a similar heat exchanger set up peaked at 158'C last year and we had to back off to allow it to cool down even though we were using 10W/60 race oil.
What are people's experience of oil temps on the Subaru's on track?
Essentially what i want to know is what sort of temps are you getting in a hard session on track after say 10 minutes?.
Also has anyone bought a plug and play kit and what was it like - if it was any good recommendations will be gratefully received!.
I have no problem fitting it myself as ive been spannering on all sorts for years!

Cheers Pete.

I just had to fit a oil cooler to the car after seeing shockingly high oil temps while on 20min track sessions (also had the exhaust manifold heat wraped as i dont think that helped as the oil filter is right next to it)

We saw temps reaching 140, and then pulled in the pits to cool down (running 5w/40)

Not had it on track yet, but hope to have it on track in a couple of weeks time, so will let you know how it went.

I would say get one fitted if you are going to the ring! Prolonged top speeds around there will for sure boil the oil!

Better to be save then a sorry long trip home on the back of a low loader
