Default Heat wrap and turbo blanket any difference?

Hi, I've ordered a turbo blanket and header wrap, has anyone actually noticed any difference after fitting the same? My under bonnet temps are very high, as i have no heat shields on anything at the mo!

Thanks, Mit

the turbo blanket deffo makes a diff to the temps under the bonnet. i took mine off today after a little run around the block and i could feel the heat rise off the turbo after.

Same as me, fitted a de cat downpipe, and never fitted the heat shield back.
I got a universal turbo blanket kit from the states, by DEI. Not received it yet, but looks good in the reviews. £70 delivered, see if i get caught by customs or not!

What's the part number for that kit Harvey? I couldn't find one in the UK for less than £110!

With a pair of Tin Snips & a little modification to the original heatshield it will fit back on, Combined with the heat wrap Etc works very well & gives you a few more bangs & pops out of the exhaust to boot

Sorry but Dawn and I are in Turkey on honeymoon so we don't have a part number book with us but I import DEI heat wrap and their range of products every six weeks to support my header and uppipe business.
Refitting the OE heat shield is quite easy if you retain the bracket that bolts to the downpipe flange connection and this has the advantage of retaining an original look. I usually slice off the bottom section of the heat shield below the pop rivetted join, particularly if the downpipe is also wrapped.

I can vouch for Harveys heat wrap I did my down pipe and its so easy. I think its worth it, knowing you have done a job properly. Heat soak is not a good thing

I've fitted an STi 6 tmic, so the standard chimney turbo heat shield won't fit, even if i trim it. I'm going to make a heat shield out of stainless, to go over the turbo once it's wrapped, double protection! I've seen some sticky back heat shield tape, which i'll use on the underside of the heat shield too.

Thanks for the good wishes guys. Sunbathing here by the pool with an iced glass of liquidised oranges. Only problem is keeping the sun off the laptop screen. Going to a secluded beach for lunch and water sports this afternoon.

Cheers Guys. Thanks for the good wishes from Dawn and myself. Back home now and only 370 odd "unessential" e-mails on my screen. Everything ran smoothly in our absence including some work on the property and the dog had a great time at the farm. We have seen a nice property out there and plan to go back, probably in September.
As for S/Net, not a drug but we were multi tasking. A very relaxed regime. A couple of hours on the I/Net on the days we were not going out on the boat, sipping ice cold fruit drinks, enjoying local food, receiving visitors and renewing old friendships. Relaxed way of life soaking up the indigenous ambience. Everything was so green despite the sun from Dawn to Dusk and high temperatures. Lots of work has gone into irregation over hundred of years and many places have sprinkler and mist systems that are on a timer etc. Impressed. Cheers.
