subaru turbo conversion

Thumbs up subaru turbo conversion

hi all.

i have a subaru impreza sport t reg lovely car.
i am wanting to change it or convert it to a turbo, i dont want to sell it or buy a turbo impreza just wanting some help/advise on how to do these mods, any tech guys around to advise me please?

i know i need ecu-wireloom-turbo unit-oil cooler etc, someone said there is a mod like drilling a hole in the block and that makes it a turbo!

can anyone please advise asap. diagrams of whats needed or reply's much appreciated.

Every time this topic comes up everyone has the same reply " WRX and STi are going for so cheap now days, just buy one"!

I cant tell you the in's and out's of it but i bet you most of the replies you get are going to be like this! Good luck mate.

i just dropped a turbod engine in mine cos you need the beefy running gear too so might aswell use the lot just buy a rightoff turbo and use everythng

Not gonna happen, you need an entire car to do it really. You cant turbo a sport engine in the way you think you need a low compression engine for a start.

Cost of parts to do the job you are talking about £1300, cost of a cheap and cheerfull old k plate turbo impreza £1200ish.

I'd like to know more about drilling holes in the block. Was that to get oil feeds for the turbo? Sounds like a recipe for disaster.
